One HeartSample
One heart for people – Church is the Hope of the world
Romans 12:4-6 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
Finding one’s place in the body is critical to the building up of the body. In Christ we discover our gifts and in Him they find their full expression. A proper functioning body requires everyone, every body part and member, to avail themselves to be positioned and equipped to support the health and growth of the entire body. The complete, overwhelming love for people and the world requires us all to do work together to be able to paint the full picture of Love – the Church in action.
We can celebrate each other’s uniqueness, and be in unity as the Body of Christ. Christ works in this world through the Church. He speaks and acts through the Church.
Ephesians 1:22 (MSG) At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
Reflect
- How can you encourage someone in the Church to live in their calling and gifts today?
- Are you positioned and equipped to contribute to the building up of the Body of Christ?
Prayer
- Pray for our congregations today: that we would remain in unity as the Body of Christ.
- Pray that we would be obedient to the Lord’s voice as He uses us to speak and act.
