Come, Let's Go! Discipleship In Evangelism

DAY 1 OF 7

 MEMORIZE MATTHEW 24:14

"And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

HOW TO START A MOVEMENT

Things were not the way they were supposed to be for God's people. They got what they wanted with King Saul and they were down to just two swords in the whole kingdom. Most of the people were hiding under rocks and not living in the promised land. While about 600 soldiers were off talking about what they needed to do to receive God's promise, only two people decided to go do something about it. Three times Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, "Come, Let's Go!" You might want to highlight I Samuel 14:1, 6, and 12.

These two people sparked a movement. They heard from God, and then they did what God said. You should turn and say to someone, "COME, LET'S GO!" Then, the two of you go do what God says. You never know what could happen. Invite a friend to do this seven day plan with you.

When Jonathan said, “Come, Let’s Go,” to his armor bearer they took out 20 men that day. The army of about 600 soldiers over with the King took notice. They stopped talking about it, and started being about it. Then all of God's people started coming out from under the rocks where they were hiding. Each one did their part and God saved Israel that day.  God's chosen people stood up and did what God commanded them to do.

COME, LET'S GO TRAINING TIP

Look for and launch a "Person of Peace" - Some of Jesus's first Jonathans

Jesus was always looking for and launching "Jonathans" everywhere He went. Another phrase Jesus used while training his disciples to look for "Jonathans" was a "Person or Peace." For more about that, look into Luke 10 and Matthew 10 sometime. This first, unexpected "Person Of Peace" that Jesus trained and sent out right away is in John 4. She is extraordinary.

Not only was she a woman, but she was from a minority group called the Samaritans. Let's just say she had a few husbands and leave it at that. Jesus has a short interchange with her. He asks her for some water, and He tells her all about the living water He has to offer her. You wont believe what happens in the next few days. She gathers the whole city. God used this woman, armed with her testimony, to start something that only God can do. She started a spiritual movement in her city. That is some amazing fruit from a very unexpected place.

Jesus does this again with a demon delivered man in Mark 5. God used him to change ten cities! Jesus looked for and launched some of the most unexpected people. Jesus can change and use anyone. COME, LET'S GO!

Day 2

About this Plan

Come, Let's Go! Discipleship In Evangelism

Three times in I Samuel, Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, "Come, Let's Go!" Three times in Revelation 22 Jesus said, "I'm coming soon!" It's been more than 2,000 years since Jesus made this promise. Jesus gave the church a simple job to do. It's called the Great Commission. So church, why hasn't Jesus COME back yet? We need discipleship in evangelism! COME, LET'S GO!
