Come, Let's Go! Discipleship In EvangelismSample
JESUS ALSO SAID, “COME…LET’S GO"
We will study five places in scripture where Jesus said "COME" and five places in scripture where Jesus said, "LET'S GO!"
MEMORIZE MATTHEW 24:14
"And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
COME...AND SEE
It is simply discipleship in evangelism. It is about abiding in Christ and bearing fruit. It's about being and doing. It's taking the time to wait and hear from God and then doing what He said right away, His way. You are were made for this. You were designed to make a difference. You were made to multiply. The best way to make a difference is to make disciples. This is something every believer in Jesus Christ can do. There are no age limits. There are no gender restrictions.
Why don't you just COME AND SEE where Jesus is staying and spend the day with him like John's disciples did? See how He does it. Then go do it like He did it. John the Baptist did not get jealous that his disciples started following the Lamb of God. John the Baptist declared that Jesus was the Lamb of God. His humility made straight the way of the Lord. Jesus was the one they had all been waiting for. And right away after spending their first day with Jesus, they went out and began to spread the news.
The first stream of disciple-making disciples started to MULTIPLY right away. You are reading this right now because two people decided to listen to Jesus who said, "COME AND SEE.” They obeyed Jesus. They came, they saw, and they went out to go and tell just like Jesus. Jesus did not say, "COME AND SIT." Jesus turned these fishermen into fishers of people. Right away these men went out to go and tell right after Jesus said, "COME AND SEE." The disciples didn't have it all together yet. They had just spent one day with Jesus, but everything was different.
LET'S GO...MAKE DISCIPLES THAT MAKE DISCIPLES THAT...
There are five great commission passages in the bible. Today, we are going to look at the one in Matthew 28. This was not the great suggestion. We either do what Jesus said or we disobey. Disciple Multiplying is simple. It's like show and tell. Show people how you do it, and then tell them that they can do it too. Go, baptize, and teach them to obey. You just pass on to others what has been passed onto you. Don't just teach them to know more stuff. Take the time to teach them how to do the stuff. Jesus spent about a little over three years pouring into twelve guys. Let's just be a bunch of ordinary people who spend time with Jesus. Love God, Love Others, and Multiply Disciples that do the same. What are you waiting for? Come, Let's Go!
COME LET'S GO TRAINING TIP
Duckling Discipleship- We are always following and always leading
You don't have to know everything before you start sharing. You can all learn simple steps to multiply disciples. BE and DO, SHOW and TELL, COME and SEE, GO and TELL. Abide and Bear Fruit. It's just DISCIPLESHIP in EVANGELISM or sometimes we call it JONATHAN TRAINING. The first disciples knew exactly what to do because they watched Jesus do it first and he invested deeply in them. We are like ducklings always following and always leading just one step ahead and one step behind other ducklings.
How long does it take for a candle to give off light once it is lit? It can start to SHINE right away. You do not have to go away to candle school to learn how to do what you were designed for and made to do. At the very beginning, Jesus told his disciples that they "ARE" the light of the world. He did not say, "you will be," or "you can be" the light of the world. He said "YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD." This was in Matthew chapter 5 right from the very beginning. Jesus spoke this truth into his disciples. Once you are lit, you just shine.
Show someone else and tell them that they can come to Jesus and see how it's done. Then, they can go and tell others to do the same right away. COME, LET'S GO!
About this Plan
Three times in I Samuel, Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, "Come, Let's Go!" Three times in Revelation 22 Jesus said, "I'm coming soon!" It's been more than 2,000 years since Jesus made this promise. Jesus gave the church a simple job to do. It's called the Great Commission. So church, why hasn't Jesus COME back yet? We need discipleship in evangelism! COME, LET'S GO!
