Journey With HopeSample

partnership
In 1784, Richard Johnson was commissioned as the first chaplain of the NSW (Australia) settlement. It would be 4 years before he arrived and began serving the budding community.
During his ministry, he baptised 226 people, performed 220 marriage ceremonies and conducted almost 854 burials. That's on average one funeral per week.
There would have been profound challenges serving a remote community on a new land. A decision to leave what we know, and the need for strength to bring Gospel to a community we don't know, is a challenge.
Sometimes, partnership can be really costly - which is reflected in the very first message Richard Johnson gave from Psalm 116. We give generously of ourselves, and often find ourselves at our own limitations. However, this psalm also reminds us that God truly is good, and partners with us far more generously.
Generosity is not a head conversation between you and the bank; it's a heart conversation between you and God.
What we have to live on is God - even as we face out our limitations, God is with us, and gives us the grace and strength we need.
