“All Nations Will Be Blessed”

God always takes things farther than we expect. Abraham was only asking God for a son, but God said that Abraham’s descendants would fill the earth and be a blessing to all peoples. What a big leap.

This promise of God to Abraham was what Peter referred to when he preached to the Jews at the temple. He was reminding them that God’s mission from the very beginning has been to save all people, and that they were part of that plan of God.

As Christians, we have become heirs of Abraham’s promise. That means, we receive the promises he received. That includes this promise to be a blessing to all nations.

Do you realize that makes you an international Christian? Let’s not live our lives just existing in our context. God can take whatever we’ve done and bring it to bless the nations. Maybe your small group will reach an international student. Maybe your disciples will travel to a different country. Or you’ll live abroad for a season. Perhaps you can engage someone from a different nationality online.

The point is this: you are an international Christian. There’s no telling how far the influence of your life will reach. God is doing this because He wants us to be a blessing to all nations.
