Love God Greatly - Psalm 119Sample

Our God has intimate knowledge of each one of us. He knows the numbers of hairs on our head. He knows every thought we will ever think and every action we will ever take. We are never forgotten. We need only to seek Him to see that He has been present all along. God is faithful, near, and active in our lives. When we turn our thoughts to Him and read His Word, we can put an end to any doubts, any fears, or any distrust that lead us to believe that He will fail us. God’s love for us never fails. Believers need only to root ourselves in His promises found in His Word so that we may stand strong in the face of adversity.
Father God, cleanse my heart of those people and distractions that seek to take Your place in my heart. My heart is bombarded with the desire for love and approval, comfort, convenience, ease, success, and ambition. Purge those desires from my heart, Lord, especially if they keep me from trusting in You. Whatever situation or circumstance You place me in, help me to trust in You and withstand it, knowing that You are faithful. I thank You that there is nothing that I can do to make You love me any more than You already do. I also thank You that there is nothing that I can do to make You love me any less than You already do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
