‬‬YOU’RE ACCEPTED

This whole camp we've unpacked this idea of real acceptance. 

There are so many things and people in this world that you might desire to be accepted by. Take a moment to think about what some of those things or who some of those people are. Maybe even list some of them out. Maybe for you it’s a fight to be accepted at school, or by certain friends, or by people on social media, or even your family. 

The reality is that we strive for acceptance in all of these areas, but we want to remind you TODAY that you don’t have to fight for the acceptance of people because you already have the acceptance of ONE. His name is Jesus. Because of Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross, we don’t need to fight for the right to belong, He has already made a way for us. We are accepted by Him. 

The best part of this acceptance of us is that, in Him, we have a calling and a purpose waiting for us. We have a future carved out for us. In Romans, Paul tells us that we receive this WILD inheritance from Jesus. We receive things like grace, love, forgiveness, and FREEDOM. We receive a new identity full of strength and power and authority. These are things we don’t need to work or strive for, they have freely been given to us. Think about it like this: Have you ever gone to a friend’s house or to some place new where you wanted to hop on the wifi, except the password is one million numbers and letters and it almost seems impossible to put in the effort to type it in? If you have an iphone and your friend knows the password, all of a sudden without even trying, the password is automatically in your phone because your friend did the work to put it in already and has shared it with you! It’s the greatest feeling ever. In one moment you feel like giving up, and in the next you have access to everything you need. When it comes to our lives, Jesus is that friend. What He did on the cross was the work, and now we have access to everything He has for us without even trying. 

He has so much for you.

This is a list of who we are because we are accepted by Jesus. Our encouragement for you today is to read these characteristics and say them out loud before you go into your day. Get them into your heart and remind yourself of who you are and what you have in Jesus! 

I am a child of God (John 1:12)

I am free (John 8:32-36)

I am strong in Jesus (1 John 2:14)

I am an overcomer (1 John 4:4)

I am bold (2 Corinthians 11:21)

I am not alone (John 8:16)

I am the light of the world (Matthew 5:14)

I am free (Galatians 3:13)

I am healed (1 Peter 2:24)

I am valuable (Matthew 10:31)

Jesus accepts you no matter what you’ve done, where you come from, or what you’re going through, and everything He has for your life is already in you. Speak it out today and remind yourself of who you are and whose you are. You are ACCEPTED!
