He loves you.
Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13 NIV). And then, He did exactly that. He laid down his life for his friends.
God showed his love for us by sending His own Son. Can you imagine giving up your most valued possession to show that you loved someone? It might be easy to do for someone who loves you back, but it’s a lot more difficult to sacrifice something for someone who doesn’t care or love you back.
Thankfully, God’s love isn’t like ours. It’s not conditional or temporary. He defines love. He IS love. He doesn’t just love people who have it all together. He sent Jesus to show that He loves every single one of us—even in the middle of our mess. And even when we try to run away from His love, we cannot escape it.
Nothing you have ever done or said, and nothing you will ever do or say could ever take his love away. It’s who He is, and we are incapable of changing his character. He loves you. No matter what.
