Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample

Jesus’ Shepherds
John 10:1
“I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.”
John 10:9, 14
“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved…I am the good shepherd…”
When people have access to the sheep of God’s kingdom but have not come through Christ, they are motivated primarily by their own needs and desires. Those who come through Christ find they must also lay down their lives. The sheep do not belong to them, but belong to Jesus. To come through Christ is to surrender our sin and our will to the larger will of God. Ministry to the sheep cannot be about our needs or wants. When it is, we rob the affections, resources and time of the sheep and build our own sheep pens. Jesus’ under-shepherds carry his values and servant DNA.
Lord Jesus, I surrender to you the various leadership settings I am in and offer them back to you. My desire is to know and follow you.
