Take the Lead

DAY 4 OF 5

What you say matters. This is why good leaders learn to control their words. Your words can either build others up or tear them down. This doesn’t just mean the words you say. This means the words you say, type, text, post, or write - every word that you use.

Good leaders use their words to encourage, thank, congratulate, care, and appreciate others. They don’t lie, manipulate, gossip, yell, put down, make fun of, bully, or tell dirty jokes.

Think about the words you use. Do your words more often build others up or tear them down? How can you use your words to encourage someone today?

About this Plan

Take the Lead

Jesus led by listening, loving, caring, and serving others. Jesus told His apprentices, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people... But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be the servant” (Luke 22:25-26). This is what it means to take the lead.
