Love God Greatly - Galatians

DAY 40 OF 40

Paul ends this letter imploring the Galatians not to adhere to the Jewish rules in an effort to earn Jesus’ righteousness. He states that those who are urging them to get circumcised only want to boast in themselves. Paul says it is far better to boast in Jesus Christ and His work on the Cross. Father God, I thank You for Your love. I thank You for loving me at my worst…when I was a slave to sin, while I reveled in darkness, when I was your enemy. Thank You for being everything I needed even then before I was saved, and for being everything for me now even after salvation. Lord, remind me that there is no need to brag or boast on any of my accomplishments, because You use everything that I am not to reveal Your glory to those around me. I thank You for using my weaknesses, my imperfections, my flaws, my messiness to accomplish Your perfect will in me over and over again. So what I am actually boasting about is the fact that I need You daily, Lord, that I am a mess without You, and I am blessed beyond measure to have an intimate relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Galatians

We are going to experience Paul’s exhortation to the young Christians in Galatia (also meant for us) telling them that all that is necessary – all they need – is the gospel… the good news. Tim Keller says, “The gospel – the message that we are more wicked than we ever dared believe, but more loved and accepted in Christ than we ever dared hope – creates a radical new dynamic for personal growth, for obedience, for love.” And that makes our hearts sing! Galatians summarizes the gospel and what it means to our hearts. This, friends, is life changing.
