GO2020 | ENGAGE: February Week 2: PRAYERSample

February 11—The Inconvenient Friend
Read
Luke 11:5-13
Reflect
In our Scripture reading, Jesus tells a parable about a visitor who arrives at a friend’s house but the host is caught off guard, with nothing to serve his guest. He asks for help from a sleepy neighbor who gives excuses as to why he can’t help. The host is persistent and finally the neighbor responds to the pressure from the needy man. Do you think God is like the sleepy neighbor? How do you come to that conclusion? What does God promise concerning the Holy Spirit?
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passages. Say or write them out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What do they say about God?
· What do they say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply these Scriptures to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verses, Luke 11:2-4. Spend a few minutes working to memorize them.

About this Plan

GO2020 is focused on mobilizing people to pray, but how should we pray? What should we pray for? This week we will discover how to pray as Jesus taught us.
