One Minute Apologist - Doubting Toward Faith

DAY 9 OF 10

WHY SIN CAUSES DOUBT?

When we are living in sin we are separated from God. Sin causes us to live outside the will of God. Sin alienates us from God. Sin skews our view of truth; it skews our view of who God is.

Even worse, when we live in sin we have the tendency to make God’s word fit our lives. Our sin causes us to water it down. This diminishes the truth of God’s word. When we walk in sin we are going to doubt the truth claims in the Bible. We begin to doubt our need for repentance. We continue to slip further and further away from God, making it easier to wallow in our doubts. Sin is a dangerous companion to doubt. Follow God’s will and turn from sin and see how many of your doubts you turn away from as well.

When you turn from your sin and repent, you will turn right into the arms of God. You will begin to bask in the truth of His word. Once in His presence you will have a difficult time doubting His existence, or His love. Sin causes you to doubt toward unbelief, repentance causes you to DOUBT TOWARD FAITH.

REFLECTION

What sin do you struggle with the most? It’s time to turn that sin over to God. Pray today for repentance. Turn from your sin, and into the arms of Jesus. Jesus paid the price for your sins on the cross. Only he can forgive you and handle your doubts.
