February 26—God Gives Us Power to Be Holy

Reflect

Elijah was God’s agent on Mount Carmel to turn the people back to God. Think about yourself being or becoming an agent of God in your neighborhood. As you read today’s Scripture, consider these facts concerning how God wants to work through you.

Scripture tells us that God uses clean vessels. Therefore, God wants to make us holy. If there is unconfessed sin in our life it creates a barrier to be a vibrant witness. We need to open our hearts to God to allow him to cleanse us. Prayer led and inspired by the Holy Spirit will open our hearts to God’s work of cleansing and will make us an agent that he can use.

Engage

Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions.

· What does it say about God?

· What does it say about us?

· Is there a promise to trust?

· Is there a command to obey?

· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?

· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
