GO2020 | ENGAGE: March Week 5 - CARESample
April 3—God of the Trial (COVID-19 Interlude)
Read
Isaiah 43:1-7
Reflect
Remind yourself of who God is: Creator! He formed us specifically; he redeemed us and calls us by name. He knows our name! Now, look at the list of trials: waters, rivers, flame. God says he will be with us in each one of them. How can we believe that God will do this? He says that we are precious in his eyes. You are honored and he loves you! His incredible love for you motivates his constant care for you.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, 1 Peter 4:11. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
When believers are serving the least, the last and the lost, we can easily forget the final goal. Christians are called to care about all suffering, but we must never forget the particular emphasis we have regarding eternal suffering. As Christians we must always keep in mind that the ultimate goal is the salvation of sinners to the glory of God.
