River Valley Church SOAP - Part 4Sample

River Valley Church SOAP - Part 4

DAY 16 OF 30

Jesus was teaching in the temple courts near the Sea of Galilee and scholars of the Jewish Law were astonished by His teachings. Jesus explains that His inspiration and understanding is not His own, but from God, His Father. Jesus' identification with God, the Father, caused people to begin questioning if He was of the Devil and why He thought He was a son of God? Could He be the Messiah? The Savior they have been waiting for? Jesus referred to Himself as "living water," as the "light of the world," and even as "I am." All of these references would be sacred symbols found in Jewish traditions. Jesus concluded chapter eight by turning the question back on the religious leaders, asking if they are legitimate children of God by the way they interpret the Law.
