River Valley Church SOAP - Part 4Sample

Paul lays out some important guidelines that he has for those who are married and those who are single. He then states that regardless of their situation, the most important thing for them to do is keep God’s commands. This can be a confusing part of the letter, but the main point that Paul is making is that God’s kingdom is coming, and the present world will be changed into a new creation. Because of this, Paul encourages the church not to hold too firmly onto the matters of the current world. He then writes a bit about food sacrificed to idols. There was division in the church about whether Jesus' followers should eat animals sacrificed to Greek & Roman gods. Paul simply says that each person should do what they feel God has asked of them, and that they should also be careful not to cause each other to fall into sin.
