Overcoming CrisisSample

The first words of Psalm 23 set the entire scene: The Lord is my Shepherd. Right at the start, David is claiming God as his Shepherd; essentially, he’s saying, “God is my Sustainer, Protector, Provider, and Creator.” For sheep, the shepherd was their only chance for surviving, and God is our only chance for surviving anything we face in this life!
It’s such a temptation to choose other things as our shepherd. Things like our family, social media, news coverage, or money all too often are what we find ourselves taking comfort in or following, but none of them could ever amount to the Good Shepherd that God is and all of the ways He takes care of us!
The first choice we make in crisis is this: choose God as your Shepherd.
1) What are you depending on to shepherd you?
2) What do you need to change in your life to make God your Shepherd?
