River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

After Job’s friends try to do their best to explain why God is allowing harm to come to Job (through a large amount of dense Hebrew poetry), God finally speaks to Job. He asks Job a bunch of rhetorical questions, all along one theme: that God’s ways and perspective are higher than Job’s. Even if Job has accomplished a lot in his life, it’s nothing compared to all the wisdom and perspective that God has over His good world. Human beings are all just a small part of a larger story that God is writing, and Job will never fully understand why bad things happen to him or anyone else.
