I wonder if you have also been curious about this business of God sheltering us under His feathers. These must be some pretty big feathers to fit us all underneath them.

Seriously now, the image that comes to mind is that of protected chicks under the wings of a mother chicken, or perhaps that baby penguin nestled cozily under daddy penguin in the icy, cold Antarctic winter.

Every baby is vulnerable, but it seems to be the case even more so for birds. They are born without feathers, unprotected from the elements, subject to all kinds of dangers. Without the refuge from their parents’ feathers, they would never survive.

That is why God's feathers are absolutely indispensable to protect you from a dangerous and aggressive world full of predators wanting to destroy you at every turn. The reality is that you are completely helpless and unable to protect yourself.

Under God’s wings, you will surely find refuge and protection. And that is some protection! It is not just any wing, not any feathers, these are the feathers and wings of Jehovah, the Eternal, All loving, All Powerful God of the universe!

So come on, let’s all run underneath God's feathers. Fast!
