GO2020 | ENGAGE: June Week 2- ABIDESample
June 10—The Role of Prayer for New Believers, Part 2
Read
Ephesians 3:14-21
Reflect
Paul’s prayer for new believers can serve as a model for us as we pray. The new believers in our lives can learn how to pray as they listen to us (see 2 Timothy 2:2). One of the things that Paul prayed and so should we is that the new believers would be “filled with all the fullness of God” (verse 19 ESV). That, of course, should also be our prayer for ourselves. In order to be filled with all the fullness of God, ask yourself is there anything that is blocking the flow of that fullness? Is there anything that needs to be removed from your life, so you can be more effective as you disciple others?
Engage
Reread the Scripture passage. You’ve now read it two days in a row. Does anything stand out to you differently than it did yesterday? Consider the ENGAGE questions again. Don’t be afraid of the repetition. We learn more about God each time we read and reread his Word.
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Jude 1:20. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
This week we will focus on how to encourage the growth of those who have responded positively during this season of evangelism and outreach. We must encourage them in their faith and help them to grow in Christ. God has given us a commission to make disciples who will also make disciples. We can trust God for guidance from the Holy Spirit and from his Word.
