Optimal Men's Health with Dr. BobSample

Real Men Serve
I remember one of my favorite Bible teachers starting their message setting the scene after Jesus had risen and making breakfast for His disciples. Expecting a more vibrant response from the crowd, the teacher went on to say, “Jesus cooked them breakfast” and repeated the phrase a few more times. The point the teacher was attempting to make was Jesus had a servant attitude towards people. Jesus himself said in the book of Matthew he came to serve others and not to be served.
One of my favorite ways to give back is “The Big Serve” my church organizes each fall. We go into our community raking leaves for those who might not be physically able. I have also seen many individuals at my practice improve their health when they made a conscious effort to help others through acts of service. When you help others, your brain releases endorphins, which is a natural pain and stress reliever. If you want to begin to help others but don’t know where to begin, go to God in prayer and ask Him where and who you can be a blessing to today!
