The psalmist declares that the first thing that he will do is dedicate his day to the Lord. God who wakes us up each day should be the first to receive our thanks, our devotion, and our love. This is also the pattern that we see Jesus exemplify…praying to the Lord and seeking Him for direction early in the morning.

Will you ask the Lord to help you establish a pattern of early morning worship and prayer?

Father God, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. Lord, lead and guide my day. Keep me focused on letting my light shine on all those who need to know and experience Your love. I pray for an outpouring of Your peace and love in my life and the lives of those around me each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
