DAY 10 OF 22

Change of Plans

I had big plans for my life at age 18. I was going to move out, go to college, and pursue my dreams. Everything seemed perfect, but a few months before graduating high school I found out I was pregnant.

There was no doubt I wanted to be this little one’s mom, but it felt like my world was turned upside down. I worked hard to reach my goals, and now they seemed unattainable. Statistics said I wouldn’t go to college, I’d have another baby before I was 20, and we would always live in poverty. At the time, it felt like I was destined to fail and my opportunity to do something for God was over.

I know now that God doesn’t care about statistics. When I accepted His grace and forgave myself, I saw God move in ways I didn’t know were possible! I got a job and received scholarships. My parents continued to love, support, and push me toward my goals—and that’s not all! I have a daughter who is a huge blessing to me and my family, a great husband who loves her as his own, our family has grown and we’ve started fostering other children, and I’m working in ministry!

I was certain God couldn’t use me, but His plans are always better than ours. God truly brought my life back from what seemed like the end and used it for His glory!
