In My Boat: Trusting God in the Midst of the Storm

DAY 5 OF 14

  Butterflies Bloom

My friend, Caleb, had just received the news that he got the job. It was a job for which someone had referred him, though he did not think he was qualified for it. The past couple of months had been a stormy season for him, but as he read the job offer with teary eyes, he felt like he could hear God saying, “Son, I can still beautify your life, even in this storm.”

I don’t know if you can relate to Caleb’s story, but more often than not, we get so carried away by the raging waves of life’s storms that we forget to notice how intentional God is about adding color to our lives.

Psalms 30:5 says weeping may endure through the night, but joy comes in the morning! Joy comes to remind us that we can shed happy tears in the storm; that if we are able to hold on and look to Him, He will ever so often beautify our lives even in seasons we do not think we are deserving of.

He takes pride in fulfilling His promises,  one of which is comforting and keeping us steady through our storms.

He will always color our lives, like the rainbow arching over the storm. He is constantly looking to overwhelm us with His blessings, like waterfalls cascading all over us.

Would you stay that you can bloom in the storm, regardless of how difficult it is? Allow Him, who is our joy, take you through the whirlwind and make your head swim such that you won’t be able to keep up with His goodness and mercy.

Prayer

Dear Father God,

Please give me the grace to always hold onto Your promises, that I may bloom, even in the storm.

In Jesus' Name!

Amen.
