READY
“And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 NLT
SET
When it comes to excellence, we must first look at everything through God’s eyes. We can look to Jesus as the ultimate example of excellence, service, and humility. His example is the best example of excellence.
It all starts with Jesus and looking at Him and His life. As Christians, we all fall short of Christ’s example. But that doesn’t mean we should stop trying for excellence. I think when we give up on that, we miss out on the lessons Jesus is trying to show us.
Even in sports, you may hear someone say that Christian athletes aren’t good competitors because they’re too nice. But, that’s not true. As Christian athletes, we must complete at our hardest for His glory. When we do that, we’re winning with God.
GO
1. What is your definition of excellence?
2. What are some areas that need excellence to succeed or win?
3. What parts of Christ’s example inspires you to give your best?
