Bible 2020 The Mission to the WorldSample

The Mission to the World Day 7 of 20
Are we trusting in God to do the things for us he has promised? What is interesting in these verses is that the work is all the Lord’s: “I will provide…I will plant…I will also give you rest…The Lord himself will establish a house for you”. This latter promise founds a new covenant – one with the house of David - that will find its ultimate fulfilment in the coming of Jesus Christ, something that takes place about 1,000 years after God spoke these words. May we trust in God’s promises – and his power to fulfil them – today.

About this Plan

Beginning with God’s covenants with Noah, Abram and David, these readings explore God’s ongoing mission to restore his broken creation, drawing people back to himself. God’s mission finds its fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ, a mission which the church continues today. Be part of a global movement changing the world around you by reading the Bible aloud for one minute every day.
