God Can Stop The Sun: Trusting God's Power

Joshua asked God to hold the sun. Joshua asked him to basically make the earth stand still until they had finished fighting their fight.

I remember a girl I knew who was extremely behind in her studies. She was also tired, and the constant battle with her grades was sending her into fatigue. She asked the Lord to redeem her time so that she would be able to catch up with her classes. Sure enough, the worst blizzard the Northeast has seen in years allowed her an unexpected 3 days off from classes. In these three days, she was able to catch up on all the work that she had been lagging behind in.

God is still in the business of the impossible. Maybe you are facing a difficult problem in which the solution is so radical that you’re too scared to pray for it. However, God said in His Word, "Be strong, and of great courage, do not fear or be dismayed, for the Lord, Your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

God will make the impossible happen! Don't be scared! When God was telling Joshua all the things that He would do for Him and Israel, He must have known Joshua was scared because He told Joshua several times to have faith and to not be afraid. God was with Him wherever he would place his feet.

God has promised you something. Maybe it's for success in business, maybe it's to get through med school. Maybe it's to get into school, maybe it's to get a new job, maybe it to have a baby, or get into a good relationship. God will make it so that you are having a surplus during a recession! God will stop things for you to get you where he has promised you to go. Yes, it might be scary, you might even be terrified, but keep pushing toward the mark of the prize of His High Calling in Christ Jesus!

You might not need God to hold the sun, you might need Him to hold a deadline, or to give you favor in a place you know you don't deserve to be. However, be encouraged because with God the things you don't deserve are the things that end up in the palm of your hands!

Your sun might be a bill that can't be paid or a deadline that has passed. Whatever your sun is, God can hold it so that you can get to your blessing!
