I Will Trust

DAY 4 OF 4

Platinum Purpose: Trusting the Process

Life can get real, and when life gets real you can start thinking the God has abandoned you. Bad things happen to the best of us, and it can leave us worn out and make us lose faith. The death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, even a drastic downward change in status can make us think that God is angry at us. We may even start to think that God doesn't love us and that he is punishing us for something that we have done wrong.

I used to know someone who often went through very difficult, painful experiences in her life. It seemed that every time she was getting over one blow, another one would come to quickly throw her off track. She began to think God was mad at her. This was when I had to explain to her what platinum purpose is.

Let's talk about platinum, shall we?

Platinum is a rare precious metal only composing of about .003% of the earth's crust. It is used to make very expensive jewelry and is a more precious metal than gold or silver. One thing about platinum is that it only melts at over 3000 degrees. And it only gives off its best properties after it has been under fire, melted, and reconstructed.

The first thing you should know is that if you are going through a difficult situation right now, it is not because God hates you, it's because He knows how much you’re worth and He is putting you through this season so that you can become pure. Sometimes, in order for us to shed some of the bad qualities we have, we must be put through the fire. But here is a point to remember, the more precious the metal, the hotter the fire needs to be in order for purification to result.

Meaning, if you are going through a lot more than your gold and copper friends, it's probably because you have a platinum purpose! Do not compare your hardships to others. Just like the bible verse says, these hardships teach us discipline. It may be a tough season now, but you will be surprised how the season ends up helping you get through something else in the long run.

Platinum purposes are rare. Not everyone is going to be able to endure the heat that God might put you under. Why does God put you through such intense heat? Because he knows that your best qualities will not shine through unless He does this to you.

Only God can infuse that type of power in a person, but that power will come with trials you have to endure. The goal is to remember that although you have trouble on every side, God has not forsaken you. Remember Job? The only reason why Job went through so much is because God was so happy with Him, and He knew that Job would not forsake Him. God knew He could put Job through the fire, and he would come out shining!

You will have to go through the platinum process in order to get the platinum power. Don't despise the process, just pray that God helps you get through it in one piece.
