The Greatest Gift Does Great Things
Mary’s praise in Luke 1:46-55 is deeply personal. She declares, “The Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is His name.” Her heart overflows with gratitude, and she acknowledges that the arrival of Jesus is not only a gift to the world but a testimony of God’s greatness in her own life. This is a reminder for us, too: God is still doing great things. Psalm 126:3 says, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Even in seasons of waiting or hardship, we can look back and remember how faithful He’s been.
God doesn’t just do great things for us—He does them through us. 1 Samuel 12:24 tells us, “Be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.” Every answered prayer, every breakthrough, every moment of peace is an invitation to reflect His glory. Psalm 46:8 says, “Come and see what the Lord has done.” Your life, your story, your worship—it all points to a God who is worthy of praise.
Your Next Step:
Take time today to pause and reflect on the great things God has done in your life. Write them down. Speak them out loud. Then, find one way to glorify Him in return—maybe through encouraging someone, serving, giving thanks, or simply choosing joy. When you live from a place of praise, your perspective shifts and your faith deepens.
Today's Declaration:
God has done great things for me, and I will live each day giving Him the praise and glory He deserves.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God, you are so good. Thank you for every great thing you’ve done in my life—seen and unseen. Help me never take your faithfulness for granted. May my life continually reflect your glory and goodness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Journal Prompt:
What are you praising God for today?
