Walk Through the Bible 365 - AprilSample

Promises Fulfilled
Sometimes lists of difficult words and places may tempt us to just skip past them. This is understandable, but why did the Holy Spirit include them in Scripture? One answer is that each boundary marker, each hill, each wadi, each bay mentioned by Joshua reflects the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham and his descendants - a land they could call home. Furthermore this was an amazingly fair distribution of a complicated landscape between families of feuding brothers. God is indeed faithful.
Prayer: How faithful you are, dear Lord. You provide for us each day in so many wonderful ways, just as you did for Israel. You give us a home and hope for the future. I just want to express my thankfulness. Forgive me when I take your gifts for granted. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
