River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint Sample

John focuses His eyewitness perspective on Jesus' way of life and teachings about who God the Father is and how humanity can be in deep relationship with Him. John’s gospel account was written at a time where dangerous heresy was spreading, led by a Jew named Cerinthus. In response to these challenges to the truth about Jesus, John wrote this authoritative statement to proclaim and defend the truth that Jesus is the Son of God, and to strengthen the faith of all the believers in the early Christian church movement. In these initial chapters, we see Jesus continuously providing instructions on how we are to live with an eternal mindset, which would have greatly encouraged early Christian believers who were experiencing immense persecution and difficulty in their daily lives. Word of Jesus’ miracles and teachings are spreading throughout this section, yet the Judean witnesses are divided, many still refusing to believe.
