Career Transitions | Lessons From NehemiahSample

Career Transitions―Spend Time in Prayer
Reading further in Chapter 1, what follows the first phase of Nehemiah’s career transition was a second phase; significant investment in prayer.
After Nehemiah’s heart was broken for the city of Jerusalem, Nehemiah began praying. Although Nehemiah was driven by passion throughout the rebuilding of the wall, at this point in his journey, he prayed for four months.
In Nehemiah 1:11 we read, “O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant … and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man.”
It was God’s answer to Nehemiah’s prayer that paved the way for the next phase in Nehemiah’s career transition. If you have a passion you are pursuing that may become a new career, don’t forget the importance and power of persistent prayer.
