Life On MissionSample
Our God is so generous. He gives us chance after chance. He gives us grace, mercy and extreme patience. John 3:16 reminds us that God gave us his only son. That is radical generosity. We know this to be true because it has been our experience. However, it hasn’t been the experience of everyone. Those that are far from God either have never heard about him or maybe they had a bad experience with a Christian. One of the most profound ways that we get to partner with God is by modeling his radical generosity to the world around us.
So loving the city starts with loving God. Once we fall in love with God and he changes our hearts we are compelled to love others as He has loved us. In John 13:34, Jesus encourages us to love on another as He has loved us.
Radical generosity with a shake of leading from the Holy Spirit and a sprinkle of obedience is a recipe for significant kingdom advancement.
Your mission this week will cost you something. How much, you ask? Ten dollars. I’m asking you to skip your venti, white chocolate mocha, 2% with medium foam and extra whipped cream and banana bread this week. Instead hold onto that ten dollars and keep it close. Look for an opportunity to be generous with it.
Here are a few suggestions.
-Contribute towards the groceries of the person in front of you at the store.
-Buy some flowers for a neighbor.
-Deliver a hot meal to someone that needs it.
-Contribute the funds to a local non-profit that is making a difference.
Pray that God will give you wisdom and insight as you invest these funds. Ten dollards could make a big difference in the life of a person if given at the right time so be obedient and bold. You can do this!

About this Plan
Welcome to the Life on Mission devotional. We can often get overwhelmed with the demands of life and chaos of our world. We quickly forget that God has a mission for us while on earth. There are amazing things for you to see, do and accomplish and God empowers you to do all of them. This devotional is meant to get your life out of a rut and onto God’s mission for your life. Every third day there will be a “mission” for you to apply to your life. We’re God’s people, on a mission, to reflect his goodness to the entire world. Let’s do this!
