Reality Check KidsSample
You know what it means to judge someone. Can you remember what a reality check means? Reality check is defined as a statement or action that helps you see what is really happening or what the facts are. This verse is talking about someone that is standing next to you, holding up an invisible set of rules, checking your reality, and telling you that you do not measure up. You don’t make it. You are not enough. In order to make it, in order to be enough, you need to follow extra rules and do extra things for Jesus to really love you, to qualify for the full price Christ paid, to live a life really worthy to God.
If you reread every single verse from the beginning of this reading plan up to now, you will know that this last sentence is in fact, a false reality. The true reality is that you DID have a suitcase full of rocks too heavy for you to carry, BUT Jesus took care of it. You are RID OF THE SUITCASE, you cannot be judged anymore, not because you can follow all the rules, but because JESUS PAID THE FULL PRICE.
Today is ThinkDay. Can you quickly think back to a situation when you did something bad…maybe against a friend or parent? Can you remember how heavy you felt? Can you remember a moment you felt that it will never be ok again? Now think of the fact that JESUS took care of it!! Why don’t you write a thank you card to Jesus?!
