Reality Check KidsSample
Today’s passage is full of big words with complicated meanings. I read it in many different translations, and still, the words remain big. Don’t worry. Sometimes that happens. We read a passage that feels too difficult to understand. Take a deep breath and read it again. Remember, God’s Word is living – He will speak to you through it.
This is what you can take from this passage. Yesterday, we read that we are dead in ourselves and alive in Christ. Think of Jesus – the most wonderful, most powerful person that ever lived. Full of love and kindness. Pure without sin. Now think how you would want to live if you wanted to thank Jesus for hiding your life full of sin and mistakes IN HIM. Think of brand new clothes. When you want to wear new clothes, you wouldn’t want to put them on OVER your dirty sweaty body. You would want to shower first. Our new life with Jesus is like a new pair of clothes. Just like we shower before putting on brand new clothes, we ask Jesus to help us live a new clean life as well. No more bad words, doing whatever you like, taking other people’s stuff, bad tempers, anger outbursts, meanness, books, or programs with bad content. We choose to make choices that would honor God.
Today is ChooseDay. We will make 2 choices. Read through the list of bad behaviors above. Which one of these do you think you struggle with sometimes. Now choose one person that you know loves God. It can be your parent. Ask that person to pray with you about this bad behavior. Ask that person what you can pray for them as well.
