Reality Check Kids

DAY 9 OF 21

No matter how many times you read this verse and in which translation, it ends in complicated words like philosophy, traditions, and deceit. That is until you just focus on the first part: See that no one takes you captive or beware let one spoil you or let no one lead you away with false ideas.

I am thinking of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Mom tells her to go to Grandma's, but to stay on the road. Pretty soon the Wolf arrives and leads her off the road and into trouble. Let your parents tell you that story again. The moment Little Red Riding Hood leaves the road, everything goes wrong. In this verse, Paul gives us the same warning… Let no one lead you away with false ideas. What is the reality that the Wolves in the world want us to forget?

Jesus is enough. He is in control. He is above all. He is in the center of it all. He is our comfort. He is ruler over all rulers and powers.

Today is ChooseDay. We will make 2 choices. First for yourself. Today I will CHOOSE to trust Jesus even when I am sad, angry, overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, or scared. I will ask Jesus to SHOW me how He is enough.

The second choice is to choose a friend that you think is in a bad situation… either through sadness, frustration or anger. Write a text message to him/her saying: “Something made me think of you and then I prayed that Jesus will be with you right now”
