Simple Steps Toward Intentional DisciplemakingSample

Day 2: Connect in Relationship
The essence of Jesus’ discipleship was simply inviting His disciples to be with Him. Through the years, those associated with The Navigators would refer to this as the “with me” principle. Jesus walked with His disciples, and so should we.
Robert Coleman calls it “sticking close to those whom we seek to lead.” All this calls to mind that disciple-making is about a relationship, not a project.
Those of us who are more task-oriented can forget that this is a friendship that is best cared for with patience, flexibility, and love.
About this Plan

Every believer is called to make disciples. If God has given you a fresh vision for helping people know Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and help others do the same, you are in an exciting place—at the core of Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)! Over the next six days we will explore how Jesus helped people grow spiritually—principles that are still essential for disciplemakers today.
