JESUS IS ALIVE!

Today’s Bible story takes us to the best-ever good news from God!

When you take on this Quest, there’s confusion all round. You’re in Jerusalem, three days after Jesus has been arrested, put to death on the cross and then buried.

Mary Magdalene has already been to the tomb to find it empty. She’s gone back to tell Jesus’ other friends, and two of them are on their way to see for themselves. While she’s doing that, the Guildmaster has joined Fabula – and you – in the greatest story ever told!

TALKABOUT

• What is your favourite part of the story? Why do you like that part so much?
• Can you find the ‘God moments’ in the story – the moments when you can see God in action? Perhaps when the tomb is empty? When the angels appear? When Mary realises who she is speaking to? Would you like to have been there?
• At first Mary did not recognise Jesus. Why was that? Why do many people not realise who Jesus is?
• How important is it to you that Jesus is alive? Who will you tell about this story?

READ THE BIBLE

• If you haven’t already read the story from the Bible do so now. (You can read it at the Spire, if you wish, by tapping the ‘open book’ icon.)
• If you had heard the story before, have you discovered anything new about it today?
• If the story was new to you, what is the one big thought you are thinking about it now?

TALK WITH GOD TOGETHER

Think quietly about Mary hearing Jesus call her by name. Imagine Jesus calls you by your name. What will you say?

Then, together, shout praises to God that Jesus is alive!
