The Soul Of A Worship LeaderSample
Why Do We Sing?
Why do we sing? Singing has a way of expressing the heart, just as an instrument expresses emotion. There is something about singing that is both infectious and contagious.
What God has done and what He is doing reverberates in the heart. He brings melodies of hope, joy and love. Prov 16:23 reminds us how a wise man’s heart guides his mouth. When it comes to living life daily, our heart is connected to what we say and sing.
Psalm 100 says to come before Him with joyful songs. Even in the hard times, we can take joy, because He is faithful and His tempo is always at the right time.
We need the Lord to help guard our hearts and our tongues. He alone can teach us the songs of wisdom so we may sing with understanding in praise.
May the goodness that comes from God be revealed, lived and sung from our hearts because He has redeemed our souls Luke 6:45.
From the faithful hymn: “Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love.” – Come Thou Fount (Robinson/Nettelton)
