Chosen and Cherished
You were chosen and cherished by God. 1 Peter 2:9 No matter where we may have come from, the Father extends His arms to receive us. Just like the father and the prodigal son, God runs to us first, before we ever take a step: “So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Luke 15:20
His love keeps no record of wrongs; He does not keep a list of regrets. Rather, He wants what is good for us, to live life abundantly through Jesus. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 He gives hope that protects us from a fallen and polluted world. He sustains our lives and refines our hearts as by fire. So that all that remains is His mercy, not our sacrifice.
Because He chose us first in love, bought us with a price and redeemed our souls, we chose Christ; we chose to worship and we give our lives to cherish Him. 1 Peter 1:3-7
