Judges 5 is known as the Song of Deborah; it speaks of her example and the journey of the people of Israel to victory. Deborah demonstrated obedience to God and instilled faith in the people of God.  Her boldness and courage caused many others to rise up. Through Israel’s victory we see a lot of sacrifice, commitment to God’s leading, and a demonstrated confidence in God’s ability to lead his people forward.  

As believers we are called to walk in the footsteps of Jesus who served others by speaking truth, calling out the potential in others, forgiving, including and selflessly loving others.  As we serve and love others, even when it’s sometimes inconvenient or uncomfortable God enlarges our lives and even helps bring healing and revelation to our own life in the process. We all have something to share regarding God’s ability to come through and his desire to lead us forward.  

QUESTIONS 

If you were to put your own journey of following Jesus to lyrics, what would be your bold declaration of His goodness and protection? Can you give expression of your obedience and service to Him and to the victory He’s delivered?
