Reset My Hope

Yesterday we left you with a challenge: will you respond to the message of Jesus with faith? Today we’ll see the result of faith—incredible hope.

You have to understand the culture of the day. People hadn’t heard a word from God in 400 years. Some people had given up hope. Others were taking it upon themselves to save the land from oppression. But in the back of everyone’s mind was a burning question: Where is God?

Today you’ll read two songs of hope—one from Mary and one from Zechariah, the people who responded with faith and doubt. Both these declarations (kind of like poems) are filled with hope.

As you read, look for the threads of hope springing up all over the passage. And if you’ve been struggling to find hope, ask God to reset your hope by opening your eyes to His promises. Once Jesus has reset our faith, He can reset our hope.
