Plowing Digs Deep 

In Hosea 10, the harvest of divine judgement is announced to the people of God; but, even in this late hour, a call is given to start over with the chance for a new planting of righteousness. This huge transformation had to start with a plowing that went deep and broke up the hardened crusts of habit and heart in the Israelites. God called his people to repentance. God’s call to repentance also comes to us. It’s not a superficial or ritual repentance: it’s a deep turning towards that goes beyond just behavioral change. It results in an authentic seeking of Jesus and a deep knowing of our Savior. When we come humbly and repentant before God, he starts to soften our heart towards what he wants to accomplish in our lives.
