When You Don't Know What to Pray Sample
When You Feel Called to Service
Father, how grateful I am that You have saved me, sanctified me, and empowered me to be a blessing to You and to others. You have given me spiritual gifts and talents that are to be used in Your service to build others up. Lord God, I submit myself to You and place all of who I am on the altar for Your use. May my service to You become a spiritual act of worship—exalting You for who You are.
Father, I don’t know all the ways You desire to work through me. Therefore, Lord, I ask that You reveal how I can best serve You and Your people. Give me discernment to know which opportunities are truly from You. Help me to fit in to the body of Christ in unity, and endow me with wisdom about how to minister in Your name.
Father, may my love for You and for others overflow more and more. Help me to keep on growing in knowledge and understanding so that I can live a pure and blameless life before You. And empower me to grow in the likeness of Jesus, for this will bring You much glory and praise.
Lord, I realize that Your power is perfected in weakness. You choose to shine through my limitations to show that the surpassing power is from You and not from me. Therefore, there will be trials, distresses, and disappointments. In those times, Father, I pray that I can always keep my eyes on You and say as Paul, “Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9–10).
Thank You for Your indwelling Holy Spirit, who enables me to do whatever You ask. Help me rely upon the incredible greatness of Your power that You have given freely to those who believe in You—the same mighty, resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead. I affirm that You are far above any ruler, authority, power, or leader not only in this world but also in the world to come. All things are under Your authority, Lord Jesus, and You are in control of all things. It is good and right that I give myself to You utterly and completely. So I say, I am Your servant, my Lord and my God. Direct me for Your glory. May my life always bring You honor and praise.
In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
