Don’t Be Like The Pharisees

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.  John 9:5

Jesus healed a blind man who had been blind since he was born. However, the Pharisees kept questioning the man how Jesus healed him. Jesus told them that even though they had seen what He did, they chose not to believe Him, and they even influenced the people to reject Jesus. 

Do not be like the Pharisees in this story. We have heard and read the word of God. We should be able to understand what is right and what is wrong. We have even experienced God’s goodness in our life. 

The Pharisees are like people who have eyes but cannot see things or have ears but cannot hear properly. It seems like their eyes and ears are being covered. 

May our eyes always be open to see the light of Jesus in this darkened world. May our ears always be willing to listen to God’s voice. We can hear His voice through His word or through other believers, like our parents and teachers.

Prayer

Dear God, open my eyes to always see the light of You in this world and open my ears to always listen to Your words. Amen.
