DAY 5 OF 14

The Truth Sets Me Free

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.  John 8:32

Have you ever lied to your parents by saying you went to the library while you actually went to watch a movie with your friends? Did you enjoy or not enjoy the movie? Did you feel scared that your parents would find out about it? Did you feel worried that you would bump into a friend of your parents in the cinema? All these thoughts would suffocate you.

The Bible says the truth will set you free. It means that by staying true in every action, word, and decision you make in your life, your life will be free. Free from guilt, insecurity, or condemnation. Do not lie, do not be rough to your friends, do not say harsh words to your parents, do not steal, etc. In short, let's always hold on to the truth, which is God’s words, in all we say and do.

However, Jesus knows we cannot be perfect all the time. There are times we fail. This is why we always need Jesus to help us to stay true and to set us free from the bond of sins and eternal death!

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank You for Your word that sets me free. Guide me to always stay true in my actions and words so I can freely enjoy my days. Amen.
