Thrive: A Journey Through the PsalmsSample

Psalms of Praise
This week we will be taking a look at Psalms of Praise. Praise Psalms begin with either an individual or corporate call for those listening to join in praise to God. These Psalms call us to leave behind our current situations and participate in the act of giving glory to God. These Psalms help refocus our attention on what God has done in our lives and the world around us.
When we read these Psalms, we focus on the attributes of God, the wonders of God, His faithfulness. In the beginning verses of this Psalm, David declares that 'I will praise you every day," and he closes it by saying, "my mouth will speak in praise of the Lord." We may not always feel like praising God, but these psalms help us lift our eyes above all our troubles and focus them on the one who can help redeem any situation.
