EkklesiaSample

Yesterday, we read about how each of us has a place in the church, even if it feels insignificant. But did you know that when you trust Jesus, God gives you specific gifts that he wants you to use in the church? We often refer to these as “spiritual gifts.” They are characteristics and talents given to us by the Holy Spirit that God wants us to use in order to serve each other. None of these gifts are “better” than any others - God has simply gifted each of us uniquely with different talents and abilities. No matter what gifts you have, He wants you to use them to further his kingdom and show Jesus to those around you. When we use our gifts in the church, it is amazing how God works through the abilities he has given and uses each of us to point both those inside and outside the church back to Him.
Challenge: What are your God-given spiritual gifts? Take some time today to research different spiritual gifts (start by checking out Romans 12!) and ask God to show you the unique ways he has gifted you! Once you discover what your gifts are, find ways to use them to serve others in the church and around you!

About this Plan

Ekklesia is the Greek word used by Jesus when he said he would build his church. What comes to mind when you hear the word church? People? A building? What did Jesus mean when he talked about the church? Join us as we take a look at what it means to be the ekklesia.
