The manifestation of the eternal purposeSample

The manifestation of the eternal purpose

DAY 4 OF 7

God found us when we were lost

Everything that exists, all creation, the visible and the invisible, was subjected to Jesus, not to us; everything was created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:15–18). He created our lives.

In His parables, Jesus tells us about the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son.

The prodigal son was lost. He went far away from his father. When the son returned to where the father was, the father said, “This son was dead and has come back to life.” You and I were lost, but God was never lost. The merit is not ours; all the merit is His. Our salvation is His doing. We were missing the mark.

There is something else. In the parable of the coin, the woman was looking for a coin. What for? Could it be that she wanted to take the coin, wash it, dust it off, or put it as a prize somewhere? Or, did she want to use it? The sheep is lost, and the shepherd leaves 99 sheep and goes out to look for the lost one. Why does he do that? Because that one sheep for that shepherd represents wool, meat, an offering, or something to sell. That sheep had a value in itself. If it had been a sheep without wool, skinny, sick, and about to die, the shepherd would not have left the 99.

Your life has value for God; God has a purpose for it. The shepherd did not find the sheep to caress it; no, he wanted it to be productive. You do not live your life looking for something useless. God found you because He knew you could give much to Him. The eternal purpose is that the Father be made known through the Son. What is valuable about your life is the capacity you have to make the Father known.

Through Christ, we can manifest who God is. He did not save you to spoil you, or so nothing terrible would happen to you. No! He saved you because He saw value in you. He saw that you could carry out His eternal purpose. We must understand God and His angels are not around us to see what is offered to us. No, that is the mentality that was held before, that the sun revolved around the earth. It is the earth that revolves around the sun. People are to serve God, rather than the other way around.
